Why Us
Success on the Spectrum of Mesa is dedicated to educating parents and providing them with the tools and resources they need to evaluate which ABA Therapy Center will be best for their child and their family.
The considerations noted below are also summarized as a checklist that can be used to compare our center to others (see the “ABA Center Comparison” button in the top-right corner of this page).
Dedication To Safety and To Quality
1. We have a camera system AND a parent-viewing room (to watch therapy happening live).
2. If your child has had a history of trauma, our Center creates a care plan that helps to prevent future trauma.
3. To ensure all children’s safety (and the potential for escalated behaviors), we utilize QBS Safety Training.
4. Our Center follows an emergency preparedness plan for staff and children and performs regular fire drills, safety drills, etc.
5. We include the following hiring requirements for our therapy technicians:
a) First Aid/CPR
b) Background Check
c) Drug Screening
AND there is a focused full-time training period for technicians before they are approved to work with children.
6. Our Center provides ongoing continuing education to our staff (ABA education, skill development, and identifying child-specific needs).
7. Our daily therapy model includes:
a) A balance of focused, structured 1 to 1 ABA therapy AND
b) Structured group/social opportunities (to allow for learning in various environments)
8. Our Center uses a “play-based” approach to learning new skills in a fun, inviting environment (that doesn’t feel like a doctor’s office).
Parent Involvement and Support
1. Our Center has weekly parent meetings with your child’s BCBA Supervisor that are designed to:
a) Help manage problem behaviors at home,
b) Implement a routine that will ease parents’ daily struggles, and
c) Help to establish functional communication between a parent and their child
2. We have an online progress report in real-time for parents, AND we provide written end-of-day summary reports.
Additional Benefits and Considerations
1. Our Center is able to provide all therapy hours that have been approved by insurance. If insurance approves 40 hrs/week of therapy, some Centers may only have enough therapy technicians to provide 20 hrs/week.
2. We allow outside providers (such as speech and/or occupational therapists, etc.) to provide services on-site at our Center.
3. Our Center takes regular field trips (e.g. to the park, aquarium, fire department, etc.) with parents, therapists and BCBAs.
4. We are conveniently located, with freeway access and underground parking.
5. Our Center processes insurance and billing at our local office (for faster approval turnaround times and timely answers to questions).
6. We work with part-time AND full-time children. Some other Centers only work with full-time children (regardless of the child’s need).
7. Our Center is family-owned and operated, AND backed by a proven, national care model and network.
